Since its inception in 2016, the MINDS Film Festival (MFF) has become an important platform to share powerful, interwoven stories on Persons with Intellectual Disability (PWIDs). Jointly presented by MINDS and the Singapore Film Society (SFS), the annual event aims to create awareness and understanding of Intellectual Disability, spark conversations and encourage the community to step forward to advocate for social inclusion. The event alternates between ticketed screenings in the theatres and free community screenings in the heartlands to encourage greater participation. To date, MFF has presented over 40 international films and engaged with close to 5,000 members of the audience.

MINDS Film Festival 2026 will take place from 19 to 27 September 2026, across four community venues around Singapore:

19 September – SAFRA Choa Chu Kang
20 September – Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre
26 September – SAFRA Punggol
27 September – Our Tampines Hub

This year’s festival features two international films: Please Stand By (United States, 2017) and Super Wang Wang (China, 2025). Each film offers a unique and moving perspective on the lives, challenges, and experiences of persons with special needs, celebrating their resilience and humanity.

The films are generally suitable for a wide audience, but do note the film ratings and descriptions to discern if it’s appropriate for you and anyone you would like to bring along. The festival is open to the public, and attendance is encouraged from families, educators, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about the experiences of persons with special needs.

All screenings of Please Stand By will have English subtitles. All screenings of Super Wang Wang will have both English and Chinese subtitles.

Admission to MFF 2026 is free, but you have to reserve your tickets here.

Seats are on a first-come, first-served basis on the event day itself, so do come earlier if you’d like to choose your seats.

Doors open 30 mins before the screening. Come early to settle in, browse the MINDS Social Enterprise booths, and be among the first 25 registered attendees to enjoy our Early Bird Redemption, while stocks last.

Unclaimed tickets will be released to walk-ins 5 mins before the screening. For a 10am screening, unclaimed tickets will be released at 9:55am. Arrivals after the cut-off are subject to seat availability.

Can’t make it? Let us know by cancelling your ticket before the event day, so we can make the seat available to someone else.
