  • 1. What is the MINDS Film Festival (MFF)?

    The MINDS Film Festival is an annual event aimed at raising awareness and understanding of intellectual disability through films. Since its inception in 2016, the festival has showcased stories that highlight the individuality and abilities of persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) while encouraging community support.

  • 2. When and where will MFF 2024 take place?

    MFF 2024 will officially open on 13 September, with public screenings held on the weekends of 14-15 September and 20-22 September. The screenings will take place at Shaw Theatres at Lido, Waterway Point, Lot One and NEX. We recommend checking the festival schedule for more details.

  • 3. How can I purchase tickets for MFF 2024?

    Advance tickets will be available for purchase starting from 22 August 2024 via the Shaw Theatres box office and online at https://shaw.sg/film-festival/MINDSFF24.

  • 5. What films will be featured at MFF 2024?

    This year’s festival will present seven international films, including Poppy, Ezra, Please Make Me Look Pretty, Shadow, Whatever Scares You, Spring in Between, and Stand Up Story. Each film offers a unique perspective on the lives and experiences of persons with special needs.

  • 6. Who can attend the film screenings?

    The festival is open to the public, and we encourage everyone to attend, including families, educators, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about special needs.

  • 7. Are the films suitable for all ages?

    While the films are generally suitable for a wide audience, we recommend checking the specific film ratings and descriptions on the website to ensure they are appropriate for younger viewers.

  • 8. Will there be subtitles for non-English films?

    Yes, English subtitles will be included for all non-English films. 

  • 9. How can I support MINDS and the beneficiaries they serve?

    Yes, persons with special needs are welcome at the MINDS Film Festival 2024. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all attendees. If you have any specific concerns or needs, please feel free to reach out to us. Calm spaces will also be available if anyone needs a quiet area during the event.
